Orchid show!  The exclusive Preview Benefit.
Take a picture tour of the Amazing Orchids.

I attended the exclusive Orchid Treasures Preview Benefit this past Friday March 31st 2007.  It was a playful take on the typical orchid show.  Decked out with live Pirates, treasure and a Caribbean flair.

The energy in the air was very uplifting.  Perhaps it was all of the oxygen coming from the hundreds of orchids.

Or perhaps it was the generous glasses of wine being poured by local wineries, some of the best in the world.   Featuring one of my personal favorites Salisbury Vineyards. (Jen below Left is holding one of her families signature wines.)

Eric the pirate (above right) when not counting his flowers is making guests of the event feel at home!

Above Mike Asbell stands in his display next to a picture of his late Grandmother.

Eclectic and delicious bites were served by Sandy's Catering.  Sandy (in the Purple Chefs jacket) .

The elegant Halcyon Brass quartet played music fit for royalty all night.  The music added a level of sophistication to the already decadent evening.

Above John and Nancy enjoy a toast to the event along with Eric and Christina.

Above right Long Ngo is holding his awards that he received during this years event.  If you happen to walk by his booth during the show you would know exactly why he won.  His orchids are breathtaking!

Above left Don and Genny have come to show their support for our local Alzheimer's chapter.  Middle David Congalton, local radio personality enjoys a fulfilled evening.  Above Right Peggy and Lori stand next to the silent auction table.

If you want to see these beautiful orchids and even pick some up for yourself I suggest you plan ahead and get tickets to next years event.  Be sure to bookmark the Five Cities Orchid Societies website!

Or if you want to show your support to the California Central Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer's association visit their website for details.  Or even participate in one of their walks!
